Success is not an accident! It results from hard work, doing what is necessary, right, and honorable. Success will happen, and it's just a matter of when. Whether you're pursuing your dreams or climbing the corporate ladder, it's essential to never forget about yourself and the milestones that you accomplish over time.
Often success is a word fraught with negative associations and implications. We think of it as the end goal, something to be achieved in the future but not now. The truth is a success is defined in the present and can be celebrated now.
Each of these areas of life and success will lead to greater self-confidence, confidence in others and your abilities, and the ability to invest in yourself. The most important part isn't the achievement itself but the journey you've taken to get there. The journey, a series of events – successes and failures and everything in-between – is what makes you who you are.
Success only comes from the foundation of hard work, and the foundation of hard work comes from acknowledging yourself for how far you've come. Remember what success means to you with these things to keep in mind:
With all our culture's obsession with immediate gratification and stressed-out lifestyle, we tend to forget about the value of taking a step back, slowing down, and enjoying the moment. It may seem immature initially, but several positive effects come from taking a moment to appreciate what you've achieved indeed.
You would have wanted to achieve success and self-actualization in every aspect of your life. Sometimes, life doesn't work out as planned. Sometimes you don't feel like doing something anymore. We need to accept that we all have limitations, and that success is not measured by how much you can do but by how well you do what you can do. Accept what is possible for yourself and be happy with that.
Not everyone is born equal, and we shouldn't expect it to be that way. We all have different skills, capabilities, and personalities. The possibilities are endless, and we need to embrace them all. When we attempt things outside of our circle of competence, we limit ourselves with so much self-doubt. If you haven't yet achieved success in your field, stop comparing yourself to others.
