The Benefits of Personality Testing

    Jason Miller

The Impacts it Can Have in Your Business

Taking a personality test and finding out your type is not only fun to learn about yourself and to be the best version of you but knowing your personality type can also be very beneficial for you in your business. The test is often used by business owners to assess new hires or those on their team already to perfectly fit the candidate into the right role. It’s great for team leaders to know how they can empower others to help them to succeed in their role in your business. This can be extremely beneficial in the coaching, consulting, and most service provider industries.

To be a great business owner you need to be an expert in one specific niche, not generalized.   Generalized can sound like this for example, “I help entrepreneurs grow their business” or “I help women live the life of their dreams”. These are too broad. For those who aren’t 100% clear on who they want to serve specifically, this is where a personality test can help.

There are 16 personality types under four core pillars which are listed below:

    1. Extroversion vs Introversion
    2. Sensing vs Intuition
    3. Thinking vs Feeling
    4. Judging vs Perceiving

Below are the 16 personality types using the four core pillars:

    1.   ENTJ: Passionate, energetic, logical commander

    2.   INTJ: Innovative and logical thinker, keeping focus to themselves.

    3.   ENTP: Innovators that comes up with unique solutions to issues.

    4.   INTP: Logical, innovative and creative in their solutions.

    5.   ENFJ: Humanitarian, organized and keeps up the value system.

    6.   INFJ: Creative and organized thinker, especially when alone.

    7.   ENFP: More energized around people, flexible, and in touch with other’s feelings.

    8.   INFP: Driven by values and beliefs.

    9.   ESTJ: They are passionate, hard-working, they make sure they get their desired results.

    10. ISTJ: They are organized, responsible and calmly put out all “fires”.

    11. ESFJ: Considerate of other’s feelings and try to fulfill their responsibilities.

    12. ISFJ: Very local and taking care of others is considered their main job.

    13. ESTP: Energetic and results driven.

    15. ESFP: Great at energizing and entertaining others. Lovers of life!

    16. ISFP: Passionate and enjoy being in the moment.

Learning what your strengths and weaknesses are will help you better understand who you are which in turn makes it easier to know exactly who you want to serve.  It also helps you communicate more effectively, build better relationships, make better decisions, find new approaches to take on a project, as well setting and achieving goals.
